ViaSat Incorporates Rodopi’s OSS Into its DOCSIS®-for-Satellite Broadband Satellite Network System

The Addition of Rodopi’s Automated Provisioning, Billing and Customer Care Functionality Enables ViaSat to Deliver Turnkey Satellite Broadband Services to Customers Around the Globe

SAN DIEGO, CA, February 7, 2006 - Rodopi Software Inc., an industry leader in operations systems and software (OSS) and back office automation software, today announced that ViaSat Inc. has incorporated Rodopi’s OSS platform into its DOCSIS®-for-satellite broadband satellite network system.

Adding Rodopi’s provisioning, billing and customer care functionality to the SurfBeam® system provides a turnkey solution for service providers that dramatically reduces the time, effort, and cost required to deploy total two-way satellite networks to serve end users.

Rodopi’s 100 percent web-based platform provides a fully integrated business solution that leverages ViaSat’s DOCSIS® (Data-Over-Cable Service Interface Specifications) based technology to offer automated provisioning, billing, payment processing, and CRM functionality. To date, a half-dozen ViaSat OSS customers are leveraging the joint offering to bundle other value-added services, including VoIP, email, hosting, content, and an array of internal and outsourced services. End-user customers are now able to self manage services and access account information through web based portals, and comprehensive administration and reporting capabilities enable service providers to maximize service quality, efficiency, and customer satisfaction.

“DOCSIS-based satellite systems are clearly gaining momentum as the new standard for cost-effective satellite broadband for consumers, SOHOs and small enterprise customers. ViaSat continues to rely on technology partners like Rodopi that can provide our customers with the tools they need to build an efficient, robust and scalable network infrastructure,” said Chris Leber, vice president and general manager, of ViaSat’s VSAT Networks division.

“Rodopi’s leading-edge, web based technology for bundling and managing converged services is a natural fit with this next generation satellite broadband technology developed by ViaSat ” said Todd Benjamin, president and CEO of Rodopi Software. “Rodopi is working closely with ViaSat to ensure a tightly integrated, out-of-the-box OSS solution to accelerate time to market and service deployment.”
